The Jackpot Team & Philosophy

Meet the Jackpot Team! This is where we shine! Each team member loves animals and is dedicated to their care and is responsible with the details. Jackpot Pet Sitting, LLC currently has four employees for both pet sitting and dog walking. One key difference between Jackpot and most pet care companies is that our team members are actual employees, not contractors. As employees, they are trained in correct animal care, must follow precise guidelines, are covered under our business license, insurance, and bonding and everyone adheres to a singular Jackpot business model. Having multiple team members trained for one pet, means that your pet care provider can get sick or take a day off without negatively impacting your work or vacation. You always have the option to meet anyone who is caring for your pet or in your home. (No surprises or strangers!) For dog walking, you will typically have two to three walkers and for pet sitting, you typically have one to two pet sitters. Our dog walkers are trained on dog behavior and individualize each walk to meet your dog's needs. We have dog clients of all sizes, ages, and different dispositions. Our cat sitters are truly cat experts. Cats are not an after-thought at Jackpot. Every employee is trained, plus is cleared through a background check. Read team member profiles below:

Elaina Smith

Elaina grew up with cats, dogs, rabbits, and guinea pigs. She especially loves cats and has experience with cats of every flavor through volunteering at various animal shelters, fostering kittens, having her own cats, and working as a cat sitter. She currently has two cats: Poppy who loves everyone and Clementine, who only loves Elaina. She enjoys working for Jackpot because she understands firsthand how important it is to have her cats well taken care of when she travels. When she's not cat sitting, she works as a full-time writer/publisher/entrepreneur, which gives her the flexibility to make her own hours and fulfill her dream of petting all the cats.

Blair Elliot

I'm a paragraph. Click here to add your own text and edit me. It's easy.

Blair is an experienced pet sitter and was one of our first hires, specializing in cats including cats with medical needs. She currently has three cats herself: Sunny, Scout, and Tip Toe. Blair takes great cat photos for her clients. She finds cat sitting to be very rewarding, saying, "I always get anxious when I have to leave my cats, and I love being able to ease that anxiety for others." When Blair isn't cat sitting or relaxing at home with her kitties, she can be found dancing professionally with the School of Spectrum Dance, hiking, or rock climbing.

Laura Marx

Laura believes that pets are family members and that a house is not a home without one. After growing up with dogs, birds, and reptiles, she currently has a dog, three curious rats, and a tortoise. Her staff mix rescue owns her heart and has taught her much about misunderstood dog breeds. Her tortoise has been with her the longest, through two cross country moves. Laura has extensive medical experience with exotic pets and has a calming presence around animals of all kinds. In addition to spending time with animals, Laura likes to be outdoors, especially hiking or scuba diving and enjoys exploring Seattle and practicing yoga.

Karren Meyer

Karren new up with an orange cat named Dandelion and several goldfish. She had two beautiful kitties beginning in college named Laertes and Ophelia that had chronic medical conditions, which taught Karren how to administer a wide array of cat medications, which she is able to use as a cat sitter. Her favorite animals are otters and hummingbirds. Otters are just so fun to watch, acting like puppies and kittens. Hummingbirds are Karren's spirit animal: always on the go and looking for nectar (sweets.) When Karren isn't cat sitting, she enjoys reading, gardening, attending live theatre in Seattle, and watching cat videos online at the Kitten Academy.
